Jerry Brown - MORE Welfare and FEWER Jobs the Answer

Jerry Brown The man's an economic Sooooper-Jeeenyus!

"The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I’m talking about welfare for all. Without it, you’re going to have warfare for all. Without a universal health care like every other civilized country, without a minimum level of income, this country will explode. You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever. At some point there’s a reaction and we’ll see that the real criminals are those calling the tune, making the rules, and walking to the bank."

Yes, Jerry, because that WORKS. Jerry? You DO know that the money so "spent" becomes worth not even enough to wipe your ass with, don't you? *Crickets.* Don't you???

Hiya clambake!

I've tried before to explain it to them but they don't understand why it would be so - I explain that if you have a roach-infested tenement apartment with a baling-wire and duct tape car in front of it and eat spaghetti every night and you make $50 a week, when the gov't hands out free money to everyone across the board and mandates a minimum income of $2000 dollars a week, you now have $2000 dollars a week, a tenement apartment, a baling-wire and duct tape car, and eat spaghetti every night. In fact in the long run you're apt to end up losing even that. It takes a lot longer to explain WHY this is so, but why bother wasting your breath? They. don't. get it.

I had a lefty tell me the other day that she lives in the hood and loves when lefty is in charge because dealers get busted (ORLY?) and her parks get cleaned. I flat-out called her a liar. It ain't happening.

I wonder how Jerry will swing bread and circuses for all when he runs out of other people's money?

Oh, I love bread and circuses references - thanks for reminding me of that. If only he'd start by throwing Bernanke to the lions, we might come out alive. (I just read where Bernanke is promising to increase - yes increase - inflation to help the economy. Holy bloody hell.)

I remember ol' Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown very well from the mid-1970s to early '80s when I was a California boy. Of course, he was a socialist back then too.

In fact, the ONLY difference between Moonbeam then and Moonbeam now is that this latter version has a smoother, shinier dome. "The better to reflect those moonbeams, my dear."

Anniee, they're just too stupid to be allowed to live. If they're supposed to be so frakking smart, why do they keep trying the same old worn out shite? It's had HOW MANY incarnations? Has it EVER worked? D'ar!(verbalize that)

Well clambake, just ask Bill Maher - he SAYS "European socialism works". I shit you not. Yeah it "works" so long as they sit under OUR nuclear fucking umbrella, it "works". So long as they got US to do their dirty work it "works". Just ask the noble savages how it "worked" for them.

And hell yeah, too stupid to fucking live.

Stephen, keep coming dude!!!! You too Larry.
