Stupidity on Display

Travis sometimes asks me why I slum around at such weird places online. Well, I like to know what the left "thinks." But it never ceases to amaze me that it hasn't ceased to amaze me the stupidity of your typical radical leftist. Why would I ever be surprised? They are of course whining that Obama's not destroying the economy and the entire system of government in the US quickly enough or quite the WAY they would, and they're mad that he's not doing it their way. What the hell do they care, the results are the same either way - Cloward-Piven meets Alinsky is still moving full speed ahead so what the fuck are they bitching about? Well, here's one; and it's gotta take idiot quote of the week. In reaction to some obvious morons proclaiming that Obamacare will not necessarily destroy all private insurance companies - obviously a proclamation being falsely made to allay the fears of millions who have a shred of a brain and know what that would really mean (or at least have an inkling) McEwan declares,

First of all, any government health plan that isn't good enough to drive private insurers out of business...isn't good enough, period.

Holy shit. No, you didn't read that wrong. I don't think she comprehends that of course, it is designed to and WILL put private insurers out of business; and it's written into the bill to begin with (guess she hasn't read much of it, like page 16.) Or that these people are out there claiming it won't do what it was designed to do because they want to get it passed and the only way to do that is to lie about what it is designed to do. Because people have some small idea what it is supposed to do, what it WILL do, and they don't want that. So you have to just bald-faced lie to them and tell them it won't happen. But see, she's so out there, so fucking looney-tunes, that she wants them to DO all this - to destroy the economy and our way of life utterly - while PROCLAIMING LOUDLY that that is exactly what they're doing, and screw anyone who doesn't like it. Honey, it doesn't work that way. That's like surprise buttsex without lube - you're not going to get most people to accept it; you have to slip it in a little more subtly than that, or didn't anyone ever teach you that open revolution and open coups have very very unpredictable (and often catastrophic) results? Grow up, put on your damn big girl pants and be glad - he's DOING IT ANYWAY.

Fortunately for you, you're looking like you'll get your socialist society complete with hellcare. Unfortunately for you, it is not designed to provide excellent health care to anyone, much less everyone. You're just too goddamn stupid to understand what it's really about. For the people with half a brain or more, here's a little synopsis from the bill of what we're in store for. I LOVE the part about how the federal government will have realtime access to your personal bank account at ALL TIMES - that's just fucking lovely. Heck, I'll put up the link and a partial list:

• Page 124: No company can sue the government for price-fixing. No “judicial review” is permitted against the government monopoly. Put simply, private insurers will be crushed.

• Page 127: The AMA sold doctors out: the government will set wages.

• Page 145: An employer MUST auto-enroll employees into the government-run public plan. No alternatives.

• Page 126: Employers MUST pay healthcare bills for part-time employees AND their families.

• Page 149: Any employer with a payroll of $400K or more, who does not offer the public option, pays an 8% tax on payroll

• Page 150: Any employer with a payroll of $250K-400K or more, who does not offer the public option, pays a 2 to 6% tax on payroll

• Page 167: Any individual who doesnt’ have acceptable healthcare (according to the government) will be taxed 2.5% of income.

• Page 170: Any NON-RESIDENT alien is exempt from individual taxes (Americans will pay for them).

• Page 195: Officers and employees of Government Healthcare Bureaucracy will have access to ALL American financial and personal records.

• Page 203: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.” Yes, it really says that.• Page 239: Bill will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors and the poor most affected.”

• Page 241: Doctors: no matter what speciality you have, you’ll all be paid the same (thanks, AMA!)

• Page 253: Government sets value of doctors’ time, their professional judgment, etc.

• Page 265: Government mandates and controls productivity for private healthcare industries.

• Page 268: Government regulates rental and purchase of power-driven wheelchairs.

• Page 272: Cancer patients: welcome to the wonderful world of rationing!

Of course, Ms. McEwan is also sick of hearing about the August recess because it's important to ram this thing through before anyone has a chance to properly read and debate this monstrosity - just DO IT already, right? Even though she said it's not good enough. Sheer genius, I tell you.

Not that I love insurance companies or anything, but I am quite surprised that they are taking this laying down. They have such huge lobby efforts for everything else they want to do to us, but this they're turning their backs on? The gov doesn't get access to any account I have. I'll close 'em all and use cash to pay my bills. Yeah, it's a pain, but I did it before and can do it again. There are ways to get around an evil diabolical entity. I will NOT be assimilated. I'll die fighting first.

Personally, I try to avoid really engaging the left at all. When I do engage them, I have to resist the urge to violence.

There is never any certainty of whether any particular person advocating for the left is Stupid, Ignorant, Evil, or Insane.
But those are basically the only choices.

One of the strategic errors of the Republican party, specifically, and conservatives/libertarians, generally, has ALWAYS been to give our political adversaries the benefit of the doubt, and treat them as if they are foolish, misguided, and indoctrinated in silly, insane, stupid ideologies.

But I propose that the movers and shakers of the left are BOTH Evil and Insane, and they are smart enough, and coherent enough to lead or drive the stupid and ignorant proletariat in a relentless death march against freedom, common sense, individuality, and civilization, itself.

What has happened in the last 6 months is not the continued, lumbering death march of gradual socialism, but this is a BLITZKRIEG of socialism, a BANZAI charge of fascism...

Why are Obama and the Democrats in such a hurry? Obama's popularity is the sharp point of this operation, and his popularity has been dropping since the day he was inaugurated. The collectivists realize they have a very short time to force radical socialist change down our throats, change our society and government FOREVER, and establish themselves as permantly in control of our government.

SO far, too many conservatives are still naively thinking that Obama is just a rather dumb liberal. (or the "moderate" Republicans, who praise him as "brilliant")

No, I think Obama was tagged by communists in his teens to be groomed for the Presidency. George Soros shifted his own financial backing from Hillary Clinton to Obama. Even so, I don't think even Soros expected Obama to take the lead, and keep it in the primaries. I think the hidden movers were not planning to really spring him on us, until at least 2012.

I believe Soros and Obama have slightly different agendas: Obama wants to break down the US just enough to socialize it, and go down in history as establishing a socialist America that FDR never dared.

Soros' agenda is more simple. He wants the US destroyed as an economic and political power in the world.

There are two plots that I expect yet to see develop:
A push for "regularization", and naturalization of alien invaders (possibly 30 million people)
Massive election stealing vote fraud by ACORN

We have to treat this conflict the way democrats do: like full on, total war.
If we do not stop the democrats politically, civil war may be inevitable.

Liberals are already literally daring us to kick it off. A precipitous and ill-prepared move to violence would give the collectivists just the pretext for martial law, and herding "extremists" into "re-education" camps. If you disbelieve that this is exactly what some of them WANT to see, I'll provide some links to what the chattering pundits have to say.

There are things worse than civil war.

Travis, I'd appreciate some of those links. Last Refuge of a Scoundrel has already linked the info to the gulags being planned, and naturally Sipsey Street linked to the alternet piece where they are *literally* (NOT figuratively) daring us to start a civil war, so make this fucking fool look like the fucking fool he is, will you? Pound him between the eyes with so much truth he either shuts the fuck up or goes away, because I have no patience for it on my blog.

Anonymous - you're a foolish asshole, but you're about to be schooled. Did you even READ the provisions of the bill we're about to sign here you idiot?

Pthalo - indeed; going back to cash is going to be the only alternative if this thing goes through, isn't it? Sure it's a pain, but one we'll have to live with I suppose. No way in hell are the feds monitoring my bank account. That's sick. Of course they'll be fining my doctor for treating me for cash and doing what he feels is right - my doctor is prepared for this fight as well; and he's not going to roll over. We have to remember there are SOME doctors who aren't going to put up with this. We patients have to stand by those that have the courage to do so. Even if they do it underground, which is kind of how mine is going about it.

Annie,

My doctor also is fighting. I was pissed when HMOs and insurance companies started dictating how long a treatment could go on and how long you could stay in the hospital. Why the hell do people go to medical school when it's bureaucrats that are making the decisions? The lack of any common sense just makes me want to scream.

Following is a list of some pre-USAP (that’s Obama to the rest of y’all) Presidential Executive Orders. Executive Orders become law if not voided by Congress within sixty days. Congress has never repealed an Executive Order. (Note: Executive Orders may have the appearance of law, and will be acted upon by the Feds as if they are law, but as Thomas Jefferson pointed out, the U.S. Constitution being the “supreme law of the land”, anything that contradicts it without having been Constitutionally amended is in fact no law at all. Tell that to the U.S. Federal Stormtroopers when they knock down your front door.)

In times of emergency or civil unrest, the president’s security advisor may put into effect any of the following Executive Orders:

10995: All communications media seized by the federal government.
10997: Seizure of all electrical power and fuels, including gasoline and minerals.
10998: Sezure of all food resources, farms and farm equipment.
10999: Seizure of all transportation, including personal cars, and control of all highways and seaports.
11000: Seizure of all civilians for work under federal supervision.
11001: Federal takeover of all HEALTH, education and welfare.
11002: Postmaster General empowered to register every man, woman and child in the United States.
11003: Seizure of all aircraft and airports by the federal government.
11004: Housing and finance authority may shift population from one locality to another. Complete integration.
11005: Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways, and storage facilities.
11051: The Director of the Office of Emergency Planning is authorized to put executive orders into effect in “times of increased international tension OR FINANCIAL CRISIS.” He is also to perform such additional functions as the president may direct.

Oh yes, FEMA civilian work and internment camps have already been constructed. They are empty now but just waiting for customers. So, ask yourself, are you prepared to resist if the Feds institute a new socialized healthcare system? How about when they insist that for the overall protection of society, every man, woman and child receive a “Federally approved” Swine Flu vaccination, or a shot for some other (yet to be revealed) viral outbreak?

The Federal Government began preparing for the possibility of “civil war” years ago. The Elites know that a small number of Americans will resist. Most, however, will “take a number” (literally!), get in line and “stay in line.”

I just now read the Sara Robinson Blog Bit linked above by Travis. Robinson is a first-rate idiot, and in light of her early reference to the infamous Homeland Security memo, her accusation that it is "conservatives" who wish to "shred the Constitution" is particularly laughable. I wonder if she's familiar with the very First Amendment.

Robinson is an excellent example of the Divide And Conquer Crowd, and I can't take any of them seriously enough to get worked up over them. The real war theater is elsewhere, and people of her ilk exist merely to muddy up the waters and draw the attention of Americans away from the true battlefield.

The un-Constitutional (read: illegal) Federal Reserve System is unquestionably the greatest scam in the history of the world. That's the first place where we should be directing our attention in any effort to save the country.

I wish I had the money to buy every single American a copy of "THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND: A SECOND LOOK AT THE FEDERAL RESERVE" by G. Edward Griffin. If only 20% of the population read it, we'd get our country back from all the Obamas and Bushes. The idiots like Sara Robinson would eventually fall in line when the winds of real "Change" blew against her.

I have read about the Constitution party, and there seems no place in their philosophy for Jews, Buddhists, athiests, or even Christians who don't fancy converting this country into a theocracy.

No thank you.

I'm none too thrilled with the Libertarian party either, as a party they seem oblivious to geopolitical realities, or the thirty million illegal invaders squatting in MY country, committing crimes, using social services, and filling up hospital ERs.

There is NO third party that has the wit or the popularity to run candidates at the township, county, or state level. But SOMEHOW, if we elect a president, eveything will all be skittle shitting unicorns.

The Republican party did not rise until the Whig party imploded. And there will not be another conservative party, until the Republicans go the way of the Whigs.

With the Dems in power, the Republicans must quit trying to be "slightly less repugnant pseudo democrats", and dance with us who brung em.

Otherwise, the dems stay in power until we drag them out and hang them in front of the Capitol.

TRAVIS: I'll preface this by saying I am not a member of The Constitution Party, nor will I be joining them or any other organization, political or religious. However, in the previous presidential election, I did vote for their candidate Michael Peroutka, and in this most recent election I certainly would have voted for their candidate Chuck Baldwin had Ron Paul never thrown his hat into the ring.

When I come across broad statements like “Sarah Palin is a fascist” or “Joseph McCarthy falsely accused people of being communists”, I’m in the habit of asking for very specific examples. So, in keeping with this trend, let me ask you for SPECIFIC examples of what has led you to the conclusion that “there seems no place in [The Constitution Party’s] philosophy for Jews, Buddhists, atheists.” And what SPECIFICALLY leads you to the conclusion that The Constitution Party means to convert “this country into a theocracy”? Why, specifically, do you hold these opinions?

STEPHEN:

From the Preamble of the party platform of the Constitution party:

The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States.

This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.

The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.

The rest of the platform is chock full of God this, and God that.

If some political party replaced God with Allah, and Jesus Christ with Mohammed.... well, I would call them theocratic.

So WHOSE "Christian" values should direct our government?
Southern Baptists? Catholics? Amish? Jehovah's Witnesses? Branch Davidians? People's Temple? Mormons?

I don't know whether the GOP is capable of getting back on track. Running weenie unprincipled candidates like McCain is not a success strategy.

You think that electing Constitutional candidates is more likely than mob violence to politicians?

So how many third party Congressmen do we have in Congress right now? (Other than that Socialist from Vermont)

BTW, I get really tired of people who can't have a conversation, make an observation, or make a statement of opinion without citing scripture. It is bullshit rhetorical puffery, intended to make yourself seem more educated, pious, and bolstered by GOD being "on your side".

I can cite scripture, Jefferson, Mencken, and Shakespeare too.

I can make my points without them, can you?

TRAVIS:
The tone of your reply seems to indicate that you took my simple, straightforward question as some sort of personal attack or the picking of a fight. It wasn’t; it was just a simple, straightforward question.

>>[“This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”]<<

This portion of the Constitution Party's preamble is borrowed from what is reported to be the words of Patrick Henry. I conclude from the lengthy Patrick Henry quotation posted on your own Blog that you (like myself) are a fan of that great patriot.

John Jay was the very first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and as you undoubtedly recall from your reading of The Federalist Papers, he was also one of the three men most responsible for this country’s adoption of the U.S. Constitution. John Jay said: “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

Throughout his presidency, James "The Father Of The Constitution" Madison repeatedly issued proclamations for national days of prayer, fasting and thanksgiving. Many other presidents have done the same.

I could go on and on - Washington, Adams, Mason, and nearly all of the Founding Fathers had things to say which illustrated their beliefs and approval of this nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage. The plain fact of the matter is that this country WAS founded primarily by mainstream Christians, and it was founded on basic Christian principles.

It is no accident that the Declaration Of Independence contains four references to God, even though it was written by Jefferson, one of our least religious Founding Fathers. Nor is it an accident that the Constitution concludes with “Done in convention by the unanimous consent of the states present the seventeenth day of September IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven...” It’s no accident that the president is expected to place his hand on The Bible and swear allegiance to the country and its Constitution. Nor that the Supreme Court officially opens with the plea “God save the United States and this Honorable Court.”

>>[The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.]<<

Our legal system was indeed based on God’s laws as expounded in the Jewish and Christian Scriptures. This makes it particulary hypocritical for anti-God groups to insist that The Ten Commandments be removed from courthouses. - they want the same considerations and protections but they don’t want the God.

Part 2 of 2

I find nothing in the Preamble of the Constitution Party that represents any major deviation from the essential bedrock this country was originally established in. It looks to me like just a “Back To Basics” approach. And their claim that “For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here” is the same reason that past proponents of modern Christianity insisted that the rights of others are secure in a truly Christian nation.

This Preamble does not declare that non-Christians are disqualified from enjoying the same liberties that Christians are (including the right to run for political office), it is merely accurately restating our historic Christian background and the basis of our Constitutional Republic. If you’re going to refer to this as the beginning of a theocracy, then you should at least acknowledge that “theocracy” describes our country’s origins as well. Is this your entire case? Does this complete the evidence you have to offer in support of your charges?

>>[I don't know whether the GOP is capable of getting back on track. Running weenie unprincipled candidates like McCain is not a success strategy.]<<

Actually, “weenie” and “unprincipled” are much too mild. “Traitorous” would be a better word choice.

>>[You think that electing Constitutional candidates is more likely than mob violence to politicians?]<<

Considering the ignorance of the majority of American people on the one hand, and the apathy of the majority of American people on the other, I would say that both are probably equally unlikely.

>>[BTW, I get really tired of people who can't have a conversation, make an observation, or make a statement of opinion without citing scripture. It is bullshit rhetorical puffery, intended to make yourself seem more educated, pious, and bolstered by GOD being "on your side".]<<

Thank you for telling me why I use that verse. Now allow me to tell you what I (mistakenly?) THOUGHT I meant by it: Anniee is correct, that is my signature block which I have used for many years. I utilize it routinely in exchanges with friends and foes alike. I also use it occasionally to sign off on Blog posts. I find it to be one of the funniest and most surprising verses in Scripture. In other words, I just like it. I like it for its humor and its shock value. Period. In my heart of hearts, I think of it as applying primarily to Liberals. It was not meant as any sort of ad hominem remark directed at you, nor a specific comment related to the subject matter. If you don’t approve... oh well.

>>[I can cite scripture, Jefferson, Mencken, and Shakespeare too.]<<

So can I. But I can cite Cheech y Chong as well. Have I won this quotables pissing contest? Or can you cite Cheech y Chong also?

Travis, can I ask you a personal question? One doesn’t often encounter such a strong opposition to the mentioning of God, Christ, and The Bible anywhere right of the Left. So, I’m just curious about your worldview. Do you consider yourself an atheist? An agnostic? Do you believe in any kind of “god”? If so, what kind? I realize this is personal and you might not wish to answer, but I’m simply wondering “where you comin’ from”, Willis? I mean, Travis.

Ignorance and apathy of the American electorate:
I'm sorry to say that I am not very optimistic that people will either vote out the bastards, or hang them from streetlights in DC. At this point I don't think anything less will save the republic.

The proletariat has been fully indoctrinated over the last hundred years to be irresponsible, lazy, stupid, and easily manipulated. We get the government we deserve, whether we deserve it or not.

You asked about my religion. I was raised a Quaker Liberal, rejected it as an immoral, hypocritical and cowardly philosophy, about the same time that I discovered Ayn Rand and Ronald Reagan. My distaste for people "Godding" at me started with my grandmother who was a Jehovah's witness, though it did not end with her.

I have been a student of Buddhism for a number of years, but as I do not practice meditation regularly, nor have I taken vows, it would be inaccurate to say that I "AM" a Buddhist. This is just about the moment that most "Christians" run away from me screaming. (almost kidding) I do not disbelieve in God, but I am not so narcissistic that I believe God is hanging on every prayer before he decides whether to smite us or suspend the laws of cause and effect.

I'm a big fan of cause and effect.

Create good, and there is more good in your world.
Create suffering, and there is more suffering in your world.

That premise defines Christianity, or Buddhism, and European pre Christian paganism.

The Aztecs, Mayans, Muslims and Liberals seem to have an entirely different different ethos. Islam has ALWAYS been at war with the rest of the world, and in their own way, so have liberals. I think we are coming to a crisis point, where one side will prevail, and adherents of the other side will be exterminated. It will almost certainly take decades.

I spent a good many years nominally identifying myself as a libertarian. I pretty much got sick of answering inquiries, and having people who weren't exactly clear if that meant I was a vegetarian, a hippy, a Communist, a Nazi, a Larouchian, or something even more unsavory.

It did not help that the LIBERTARIAN PARTY after just about a quarter century, seemed populated by people who couldn't divide the bill at a four-top table at Denny's, much less elect a single person to congress, a state legislature, or even a county sheriff.

I was thrilled when I discovered Lew Rockwell, Von Mises and the Austrian School... and almost as soon as I discovered that more coherent set of libertarians, the majority of previously sane libertarians followed LR off the cliff, and became crazy lefty libertarians, leaving radical paleo-libertarians, pretty much adrift.
Terrorists crashing into NYC? Let's not provoke the crazy foreigners!
30 million illegal aliens displacing American workers, commiting crimes, and colonizing California? No problem, borders are so arbitrary, and unfair!
Home grown muslims talking with Osama Bin Laden on the phone? We can't possibly track who else they call! It's ungentlemanly!

Whereas I once ran into someone else who claimed to be libertarian maybe once or twice a year, since 2003 or so I run into 10-15 per WEEK, who IMO, are just liberals dodging their tattered shit-stained label.

And as disgusted with Libertarians as I've become, I just have never been impressed with CP people. I think I probably saw one or two presentations in presidential election years, and they made the LP seem competent, by comparison.

I've never known what the Hell "Judeo-Christian" is supposed to mean.
I've met Christians, and I've met Jews, and never met one that had the slightest intest in becoming the other. It makes about as much sense as, since Buddhism evolved from Hinduism, artifically conflating them into "Hindu-buddhism" as if there is no theological divide, and the two philosophies are more or less interchangeable.... well, they're not.

You are quite right that the founders of this Nation were overwhelmingly Christians for whom their religion was central to how they lived.

By the same token, the people who settled the British colonies were survivors, and refugees of vicious religious wars in Europe, and had no desire to have their society torn apart over similar religious factionalism.

I do not have an issue AT ALL with the religious rhetoric surrounding the founding of the US. That was their milieu. Ours is much more secular (and I do NOT think that is necessarily a good thing)

It's not that I'm hostile to the language per se, but when I see yet another hoaxer using "Goddy" language to yank people chains, and they FALL for it, (EVERY FUCKING TIME!) I start thinking I should be practicing 600 yard sniping skills.

And while I am usually very suspicious of politicians talking like that, With Sarah Palin, I don't feel like she uses it to pull one over on the rubes. ( like with Clinton or Obama)

It did initially occur to me that perhaps you were just unconsciously starting from “combat mode”, which most conservatives get in the habit of maintaining after many skirmishes with the Left. I cut my teeth in defending Senator McCarthy against the Pro-Commie crowd, so you can just imagine how battle-tested I am. I was always victorious, but it did tend to keep me perpetually in armor and ready for the next fight. I had to watch that I didn’t misinterpret an innocent comment as an attack and wrongly start counterpunching. I’ve mellowed out some since then.

>>[I'm sorry to say that I am not very optimistic that people will either vote out the bastards, or hang them from streetlights in DC. At this point I don't think anything less will save the republic.]<<

I believe we both probably seek to reach the same destination, and if there’s disagreement at all, it’s perhaps mostly about the path to take. But in the final analysis it’s really a moot point because we will not be turning back from the “collective” path we’re on, and we will wind up with the global governmental form that has been planned for us behind closed doors. I was relieved of years’ worth of frustration when I finally came to realize and accept that fact. In other words: “Since I gave up hope I feel much better.”

>>[The proletariat has been fully indoctrinated over the last hundred years to be irresponsible, lazy, stupid, and easily manipulated.]<<

Ahh, you noticed that too, eh?

>>[My distaste for people "Godding" at me started with my grandmother who was a Jehovah's witness…]<<

Ha! Well, that explains a bit.

>>[I have been a student of Buddhism for a number of years, but as I do not practice meditation regularly, nor have I taken vows, it would be inaccurate to say that I "AM" a Buddhist. This is just about the moment that most "Christians" run away from me screaming.]<<

I myself embrace a heterodox religious belief. As I told a friend recently: I’m sort of a “Bad Christian Meets A Christian Science Laboratory Explosion.” (And it’s not really related to Dr. Seuss. Ha!)

>>[Islam has ALWAYS been at war with the rest of the world]<<

As you probably know, that’s a Biblical statement: “He shall be a wild man; his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him.” –Genesis 16:12. Sorry for the Bible verse, but I figured you would actually appreciate this one.

>>[I spent a good many years nominally identifying myself as a libertarian. I pretty much got sick of answering inquiries, and having people who weren't exactly clear if that meant I was a vegetarian, a hippy, a Communist, a Nazi, a Larouchian, or something even more unsavory.]<<

Ha!-Ha! :o)

>>[Whereas I once ran into someone else who claimed to be libertarian maybe once or twice a year, since 2003 or so I run into 10-15 per WEEK, who IMO, are just liberals dodging their tattered shit-stained label.]<<

Hear! Hear!
I was born and raised Republican, but for years now I have refused to identify myself as anything other than a “Constitutionalist.” Well, I’ve also been known to accurately label myself an “Anti-Federalist.”

>>[I've never known what the Hell "Judeo-Christian" is supposed to mean.]<<

I believe I could explain that but we won’t go there. It has been said that “The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.” That pretty well sums it up, I think.

>>[I do not have an issue AT ALL with the religious rhetoric surrounding the founding of the US. That was their milieu. Ours is much more secular (and I do NOT think that is necessarily a good thing)]<<

I’ve been planning a Blog Bit about the Christian heritage of our country’s founding based upon an ongoing e-mail exchange with a good friend of mine. This was originally intended for posting at Amazon.com before they kicked me off their site in April 2008 for being too politically incorrect. (I’m rather proud of that fact.) This conversation has inspired me to get cracking on that again. Thanks, Brother!

Well, I’m glad we were able to iron things out. I didn’t come looking for a fight; I generally just wait for them to come to me - which they do with surprising frequency.

And gratitude goes to Anniee for helping in an unobtrusive way to construct a bridge over troubled water. As Cheech says to Chong: “You just gotta know how to lay it on them dudes, man.” (See? I told you I could cite Cheech y Chong!)
