Devil Went Down to...

GEORGE?!?! I was just looking for a studio recording of the Charlie Daniels song, and there are a bunch of videos labeled "The Devil Went Down to George". Even listing that as the lyric. What in the hell has the internet done to us??? On the other hand, chicken in the breadpan pickin' out dough. Heh. ETA: Apparently I'm gonna have to go dig out my old album Southern Fried Rock to find a copy with son-of-a-bitch, because they all say sonofagun; even the ones that are funny and spelled right. And I don't want a live version. Off to dig out albums. Now, what freaking letter are we on anyway? I really want to make sure I catch up here. Thanks in advance.

Cool; welcome aboard. Just be prepared for a tad of drunkfuckery (if you've read back at all you'll notice it.) But for the most part the people who like it like it and those who don't, just don't. Very few in-betweens. I think I already did L so maybe I'll just go to sleep lol. God knows I could use it. Again, welcome and we all hope you'll stick around! (All, uh - what, 3, 4 of us? heh). Someday I'll be a famous author but I won't laugh; I'll credit it all to you first few :)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh,... Damn it, ANNIEE, you had/have me laughing so hard! I had to take off my glasses to wipe the tears out of my eyes because I couldn't see what I was typing on the computer monitor! [LITERALLY! I'm dead serious!]

Oh, gosh, that was my best laugh in a month! THANKS!!!

Listen, I just now finally got done replying to all the great comments you left for me over the last two days.

I found this on my "BigBitch.com" post:

>>> . . . The Trial of Hank Rearden. If you've never read Atlas Shrugged...

I haven't. Can you post the URL for it here so I can read that part of it later? (I did read "The Fountainhead" but not "Atlas Shrugged" because I didn't feel I was up to reading any more of that atrocious dialogue - even if I agree with most of her economic views.)

I also have "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" (“Georgia”, not “George”); it’s on a compilation CD titled ‘Columbia Country Classics, Vol. 3 – Americana’. But, sadly, it too is the non-“son-of-a-bitch”-havin’ version.

I can almost excuse that though, because the CD also includes perhaps the all-time best barroom sing-a-long song: “The Battle Of New Orleans” by Johnny Horton. (More on that if you read the blog bit about my all-time "7 Favorite Bars", which I linked for you on one of my replies to one of your comments.)

And in keeping with that theme, Anniee, I’ll leave you with a memorable quote. My own Brother said this many years ago, and it tickled me so much that I’ve been reusing it ever since:

Here it is noon already and I haven’t even been drunk once yet today.
